A returns backlog cleared in six weeks.
A trend-led brand’s returns peaked far beyond what its warehouse could process. We stood up a dedicated surge line and took the backlog to zero.
The problem
Returns peaked well beyond what the brand's warehouse could process, and the backlog was growing faster than it could be worked down.
What we did
We built a dedicated returns line for the brand and scaled it up over two weeks as volumes rose, without disturbing the brand's outbound fulfilment.
Every parcel was opened on camera, matched and graded using the same process as steady-state work, so the quality of inspection did not slip as the volume went up.
The result
In six weeks we processed 71,850 items across 23,325 returns, reaching about 3,500 items a day at the peak. The backlog finished at zero.
