£197k recovered from returns in six months.
A womenswear brand needed returns handled properly without moving its fulfilment. They were live in seven days.
† 1,539 garments saved from write-off at a £128 average item value.
The problem
Returns were arriving faster than the brand's warehouse could deal with them. Parcels with no label sat unmatched, customers who said an item never made it back into the box could not be answered with evidence, and garments that could have been resold were quietly written off.
The brand did not want to change its fulfilment partner. It needed returns to be handled as a separate, specialist job.
What we did
We connected to the brand's returns portal and redirected returns to our hub. From the first week, every parcel was opened on camera, matched to its order and every garment inspected and graded.
Passed stock was palletised and sent back weekly, around 1,000 items per pallet. Pricing was by processing time per garment, with packing, palletising and return shipping included.
The result
Over six months we processed 42,696 items at around 350 a working day. 1,539 garments, worth £197k at the brand's average item value, went back on sale instead of being written off.
Of the missing-item returns, 24% were disputed with customers. Every dispute was won, because the parcel opening was on video. A further 118 faulty items were evidenced with video and photos.
